Home Security
HEET's free lock fitting and security service will make it harder for someone to break into your home.
What security measures does HEET fit?
A Crime Prevention Officer (CPO), or our own surveyor, will assess what security measures you need. Below are illustrations of some security measures that we fit.
Doors
- Cylinder lock (also known as night latch, rim lock or Yale).
- London bar - strengthens the locking side of the door frame.
- Five-lever mortice lock conforming to BS 3621 standard.
- Lock guard - reinforces the area around the mortice lock.
- Door viewer or DV100 mini intercom (below) - The DV100
enables you to see and speak to callers through a closed door.
Birmingham bar or hinge bolts (right) - protect the hinge side of the frame from forced entry.
Windows
We aim to secure ground floor windows and any upstairs windows that an intruder could easily access. The two main locks we fit are:
Sash stops (left) - key-operated stops to enable you to open sliding sash to a maximum of 130mm (5″).
D locks (right) - key-operated and surface-mounted lock that can be fitted to a wide variety of different windows.
Please note:
- We do not fit burglar alarms or CCTV.
- Additional secruity is rarely possible on PVCu doors and windows.
