Energy surveys for businesses

If you run a business or organisation with fewer than 250 employees and are based in the Leyton or Lea Bridge Objective 2 areas in Waltham Forest, HEET can carry out a business energy survey for you free of charge.

What the survey covers

Our energy surveyor will make an appointment to visit your premises to show you where you can save energy on heating, hot water, ventilation, lighting, office equipment and more. The surveyor can also give advice about the most cost-effective improvements for your buildings.

If you run your business from home, the surveyor will give advice about domestic energy saving as well and will be able to give your home an NHER and SAP rating.

HEET may also be able to provide some energy saving measures, such as loft insulation and draught proofing free of charge.

Time required for the survey

This depends on the size and nature of the business and the premises. For somebody working from home or a small shop premises the survey will usually last 1-2 hours. For other types of business it will take longer.

Likely energy savings

The potential for savings will depend on many factors including efforts already made to save energy. Savings of 20% or more may be possible with a small investment or simple changes in behaviour.

With fuel costs certain to go on rising and the urgent need to reduce carbon emissions any savings should be considered worthwhile.
