The HEET Project
HEET is a not-for-profit organisation working in the London boroughs of Waltham Forest, Redbridge and Enfield. We help households to:
- Save money on fuel bills
- Stay warm & healthy at home
- Avoid becoming a victim of burglary or fire
- Save energy & cut carbon emissions
Redbridge Handyperson Scheme
HEET delivers the Handyperson Scheme on behalf of the London Borough of Redbridge.
For a small charge, the scheme assists older, vulnerable and disabled residents with odd jobs and small-scale repairs around the home.
The service is available to all Redbridge residents who are:
- aged 60 years or over;
- disabled or have a long term serious illness or health problem which makes it difficult to carry out the work; or
- awaiting discharge from hospital.
For more information, click here or call the Handyperson Scheme number, 020 8520 4554.

Making Homes Safer and Warmer
HEET may be able to make your home safer and warmer, free of charge, if you live in Waltham Forest (postcode areas E4, E10, E11, E17, IG8) and are aged over 60 OR living on a low income. Check your eligibility.
Making homes warmer: HEET can fit energy efficiency measures that will help you to save money on your heating bills and stay warm in winter. Saving energy also helps to reduce carbon emissions and so is good for the environment. Find out more about energy efficiency.
Making homes safer: HEET provides a free service fitting door and window locks, and other measures to help you to avoid becoming a victim of burglary or bogus callers. Currently, this service is only available via a referral system. We will update this page if the situation changes (February 2018). Find out more about security or fire safety
Healthy homes: Cold, damp and insecure homes are bad for physical and mental health. (Find out why it matters to keep warm.) We therefore encourage referrals from health and social care professionals and crime prevention workers to help us reach those whose health is at risk. Make a referral to HEET.
